i've had it with work. my issues with them aren't resolving, the golden noose is just getting tighter.

so i'm thinking of quitting and would like to hear what any of you other students have to say about that, and how you managed things if/when you didn't have a job. particularly students in professional school, which is ridiculously expensive.

I've got student loans, which are enough to cover living expenses. unless you're me and spend the money on stupid stuff. er, I'm looking for a part time job, actually.

that's the real problem. i need a strict budget. if i took out my total $18k a year in loans and then worked a part time job that was like $400/month, i should be able to do it, right? i might not be able to go to school over the summers, though, because that would make annual tuition $15k.

I'd love to quit my job and go to school FT, but through experience I've realized "money makes this F'd up world go 'round" and is such a necessity that I put up with an extreme amount of BS at my job. It pays the bills and let's me live my "real" life on weekends!
Also, I wouldn't want to regret the lost income opportunities as I have done in the past. It does add up and makes a difference down the road...
Good luck with whatever you decide...

I would tell you from my past experience to not quit your job until you've found other suitable employement. Whether its steady work with a temp agency while your in school, or a job that works around your school.

The bills don't stop coming even though you may have quit your job.

On a brighter note, when you've secured other employment, you can tell your old job to kiss your ass, and walk out. Thats always liberating.

yeah, i know you're right - it's just such a hassle to have to find another job when you'd have to call off to go on interviews, etc. that's my main problem with this job - the schedule. if they had more flexibility in what i could do, i would stay there forever. the last time i did this, i was working third shift so going job hunting all day was no problem.
