fake holidays and more brooding

sorry about last night's angry post. not directed at any of you... but the events of today just confirmed my suspicions.

i can miss one day of class if it's for a legitimate religious holiday. i begged my friend to say i were his fiancee so i could miss yesterday for rosh hashanah. he said no, i couldn't pull off being jewish.

Oh...well, I'm jewish by proxy...my mom's boyfriend (of 14 years) is jewish (his parents immigrated from Hungary after WWII), and he has been living with my mother for 13 years...we consider his family to be our family...so if nothing else, I have jewish pseudo-roots. :)

And yes, I did take Rosh Hashanah off!
