None of the Avengers knows what a "normal high school experience" is. imbecamiel November 8 2012, 04:31:54 UTC
Inspired by the fact that - since I was homeschooled - I'm always at a loss when it comes to discussion of high school. My knowledge... pretty much comes from TV and movies. XP

Thinking about it, I realized that most of the Avengers probably had far from what would these days be considered a "normal" school experience. Thor - well, obviously, different planet and all. Steve went to school almost a century ago, and things've changed a bit since then. Natasha, whatever her precise backstory may turn out to be within movieverse canon, started as a spy when she was very, very young, and definitely had an unusual upbringing. I'm guessing Clint's schooling was pretty unconventional - the circus not being known for stability and normalcy.

Tony and Bruce most likely had the closest thing to an average experience. But Tony, I'm figuring, would've had quite a blend of private tutors and skipping grades. And I can see Bruce being somewhat out of sync with his age range as well, if not necessarily to the same degree as Tony.

So, when the question comes up of how something works in high school these days, or whether or not something is normal (or hey, maybe even someone like Peter Parker asking advice, "How did you handle this?" if you want to go for a crossover), or... wherever you want to take it - they basically realize that none of them have any idea.

Whatever direction you want to go with it, I'm not fussy. I'd prefer not total crackfic, but silly or sad, focus of a little one-shot or part of a larger plot, 's all good. I'd just really like to see something done with the idea! ^^
