Welcome to our fifth Avengers Marvel Cinematic Universe exchange.
Fest FAQs:
What is Avengers Fest?
This is an anonymous fanwork exchange focusing on characters and relationships from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Any characters from Iron Man 1-3, Captain America 1-3, The Incredible Hulk, Thor 1-2, The Avengers 1-2, Guardians of the Galaxy, or Ant-Man are welcome.
What about characters from TV spinoffs like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Agent Carter, and Daredevil, Jessica Jones?
These characters are welcome.
What kind of fanworks are allowed? What are the requirements?
Both fanfic and fanart are allowed. You must produce one fic or fanart. All fics must be a minimum of 1,000 words. There is no maximum word count. Art can be computer- or hand-drawn and must be complete (no rough sketches). Manips are not allowed. Submissions may be any rating. Submissions may be slash, het, gen, or femslash. Threesomes/moresomes are welcome.
What about Avenger comics? Are we allowed to sign up for those?
Because of the size of the Avengers canon, we are going to concentrate on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. When making a request, at least two pairings/characters requested must be from from the Avengers movie universe. However, we will have an optional field for you to include pairings/characters from the Avengers comic universe that you would like to see. We make every effort to match people on these requests, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive fic/art featuring comic canon.
What about other Marvel Universes like X-Men?
These character/pairings may be requested, but they will not count towards your minimum amount of characters/pairings.
Is RPF allowed?
RPF may be requested, but won't count our minimum amount of characters/pairings.
I have this one pairing/character that I REALLY love. Can I just sign up for them?
No. You must request and offer at least two characters/pairings. In your signup, do not imply rank for pairings/characters or otherwise specify a favorite pairing/character.
I don't have/want a Livejournal account. Can I still sign up?
Yes, you can still sign up. A Livejournal account isn't required.
I don’t have/want an Archive of Our Own account. Can I still sign up?
No, an AO3 account is required to post your assignment. If you do not have an AO3 account, send us an email, and we will invite you.
Are crossovers allowed?
Crossover requests are not allowed as part of your main signup; however, you can include such preferences in the "Other Notes" section of your signup. We will not match you on this, and it’s up to the discretion of the person assigned to you whether they decide that they’re up to such a challenge. There are no guarantees you will get a crossover if you request one.
Are betas required?
Betas are not required but strongly encouraged. Submissions with excessive spelling, punctuation, and grammar errors will be rejected. If your submission is rejected for this reason, you can resubmit it after you've corrected your mistakes. We will have a beta signup post for those that will need one.
Can my story be part of a series I’m writing?
Stories can't be part of a previously posted series because having to read previous parts to understand the story would defeat the purpose of posting anonymously.
How are assignments matched?
Signups will be done on Livejournal. Assignments will be matched according to the requests submitted to us. You will not be able to pick your recipient. We will do our best to ensure people are matched with the characters/pairings/likes they are willing to write. If you have a problem with your assignment please contact us immediately. When you receive your assignment you MUST REPLY and let us know that it has reached you.
What if my assigned person requests something I don’t like? Do I have to write it?
You are not obligated to write ALL characters, pairings, kinks or scenarios. Pick whatever you are comfortable with. Do not offer to write something unless you are comfortable with the possibility of being matched with someone who wants it. The only requirement is that the character or pairing is one requested and that none of the squicks be included. The submission MUST meet the recipient's request. While the artists/writers will not be bound by the scenarios, creating something that blatantly disregards the recipient's likes will not be accepted. If for some reason you feel like you cannot create something for the person you are assigned, please contact us right away.
Can I post my work elsewhere?
We ask that you do not crosspost anywhere else or reveal your recipient to anyone until after authors are revealed.
How will fic/art be submitted? Do we post them ourselves?
Each author/artist must post their completed assignment to the AO3 collection by September 10th. Authors/artist identities will be revealed at the end of the fest on September 24th.
What about treats? Can we write treats without signing up?
Of course. You're welcome to post them to the AO3 collection at any time.
Rules:
1. NO WANK! Be respectful. Please realize that everyone has different likes/interests. Don’t bash characters/pairings in your signup.
2. This is an exchange fest, which means you must produce a fic/art for someone else. If you discover after signing up that you can't finish your assignment in time, contact the moderators as soon as possible at avengersfestmod@gmail.com.
3. No extension will be given. If you do not drop before the deadline or your assignment is an obvious placeholder at that time, your assignment will automatically go up for pinch hits, and you will not be able to participate in the next round of this fest.

5. If you have any questions for your recipient, please email us at avengersfestmod@gmail.com and we will forward them for you.
6. In the event we have issues matching someone, they will go out as a pinch hit right away. If you are interested in filling pinch hits, please join our group: http://groups.google.com/group/avengers-fest-pinch-hits. Pinch hits will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.
