We did an Iron Man III discussion post after it was released in Europe, so here's part two, since I think it's come out everywhere else since.

Let's talk IM 3 - spoilers in the comments.

I loved how they took the potentially dangerous "little kid helps the hero" trope and made it hilarious.

I know very little about the comics having never read them, but from reading on Marvel wiki and talking to people who do know them, I have to say my one regret is that they made the Extremis stuff DNA-based instead of nanite robots, as it was originally. I think nanites would have made more sense, because nothing in human DNA can go nuclear like the human bombs in the film. Tiny robots would have made more sense there. Not sure why they would change that, except maybe they think audiences would "get" DNA more than nano-technology because of the prevalence of crime shows. Dunno.

I thought Guy Pearce was great. Ben Kingsley was awesome. Don Cheadle...I wish they'd do more with him/War Machine.

It's odd, but this movie kinda works as both the end of a trilogy (and a good ending, too), AND as a transition to future Iron Man stories. Strange that it seems to do both so well.

I laughed SO hard at the end of credits scene. Easily the best one of those so far.
