avengerkink. A massive thank you to everyone who held my hand as I wrote and rewrote (and rewrote...) this chapter. A special call-out to
dictator_duck who also provided character ideas and Mad Science when flailed at; and to
lordoflorien for more Mad Science, patience at my antsing, and wonderful beta-ing ♥ Contains an extract from Alexander Pushkin's poem The Bronze Horseman, and the title comes from Dessa's Children's Work:
Now I've learned how to paint my face,
How to earn my keep, how to clean my kill
SUMMARY: A mysterious explosion leaves a number of SHIELD personnel, including Agent Romanoff, both injured and children again. Suddenly, the team has to deal with a highly trained and messed-up twelve-year-old Natalia Romanova; all Natasha wants is to go home.
But neither finding a solution, or dealing with the fallout, is going to be easy.
