Hee! When I watched the trailer, to me, it sound like Tony speaking German with a French accent.
The same voice we gave to Gary Sinise on CSI:NY and believe me, in the case of choosing really bad voices for actors in foreign-language productions (no matter if it is a movie or a television show) we can do worse. Supernatural is hilarious in german. And don't get me started with Stargate (there is an Atlantis episode where in the original a character talks in czech and after the "german" dubbing in russian. We can't even get the language right).
But sometimes even I am a little fond of the german voice of some characters. Duncan McLeod (okay, minus accent) sounds a bit more masculine in german and boy, was I shocked when I heard the real voice of Bruce Willis for the first time, it's so high.
And then there is the problem with using a voice for multiple actors. Like Duncan McLeod has the same voice as Cpt. Sisko (DS9) or Roger Moore as James Bond has the same one as Mr Tanner (Alf). I watched "Troy" (for Eric Bana) and was totally confused the whole time Brad Pitt was on screen because he had Nicholas Cages voice. "Where is Nicholas? Why does Brad moves his lips?"...
I couldn't help but comment on German dubbing - we have some German channels on cable and it is really strange seeing all these familiar actors speak in a voice that isn't theirs. I've always wondered what was the reason the Germans decided to dub foreign shows. Any insight on that?

That's a question I've asked myself over and over again.
I mean, germans tend to make jokes about people from the Netherlands, from one friendly neighbour to another friendly one, but I do envy them for their policy about foreign shows. No dubbing, they just include subtitles in their language into the programm and that's it. Wonderful.
Home at my parents, we have a tv channel from the Netherlands on cable, uh, sweet memories. American and british tv shows and movies in the original and the subtitles you learn to ignore pretty quickly.
Back to the question - I think nevertheless what prejudices there are about germans, concerning our television we are, I fear, simply to lazy on the majority. I could live perfectly without the dubbing but the majority of pupils can barely talk or read english after six years of english in school. It's a shame.
I think it's only one big excuse that we try to explain it with, 'well it's german television, so the people on it should talk german', 'save our language, english is invading it more every day' blabla. If the programm is originally in english, just let it be in english. But that seems to be the opinion of a minority, so I have to thank God every day for the internet, cinemas which show movies without the dubbing and dvds with the original english audio track.

I used to watch HEX, which is where I first saw him (and thought he was lovely to look at). He's become quite the big star since then.
