Quick question: what's a pinch hitter?

A pinch hitter is someone who might be called upon to make a gift on short notice. Pinch hitters have to be used sometimes if someone drops out of the exchange for whatever reason, and someone else has to take over that person's giftee responsibility. So it would be extra work and it might be VERY short notice (for instance, sometimes people drop out only days before the due date.. unfortunate, but it happens), so make sure you have the time and availability for such an occurrence before agreeing to pinch hit. :)

Are you aware of avengersfest, which is currently going on at about the same time?

I hadn't heard of it, no. But the sign ups for that have already closed, so I see no reason why our two comms can't co-exist. :)

Since I'm currently thinking about possible prompts and what I don't think I could write well, I've started thinking of a hypothetical problem (as in none of the prompts I've thought of so far would fall into this category, but you never know if I might think of something that does) - is there a limit on what you can request vs. what you're willing/not willing to write

If I asked for a more or less specific kink (let's say Bondage or anything else really), but wouldn't want to write it. Would that still be possible?

Yes, absolutely! I made sure the sign up form has different questions for both tropes/links you are looking for or don't want, and tropes/kinks you like to write or ones you can't. Since whoever is writing for you would be different from the person you are writing for, it means that it's fine to have different preferences for receiving versus writing. You can also request to receive different pairings than you can write, and so on. So, no problem!

And your question was totally understandable. I hope my answer is as well. :)

will there be a beta request post (or something similar) where I could get help if my beta won't have time or due to whatever I write about?

Oh, I hadn't even thought of that! Great idea. :D I will make one, I'm sure you won't be the only person who might be in need of a beta!
