Looking for a fic featuring Mind Controlled!Peter Parker and Tony Stark
I read this fic on AO3 some time in 2021-2022. The first chapter is from the POV of Steve Rogers, who is at a store when he sees a young girl with her mum (the girl was wearing a bee costume because it was taking place around Halloween iirc) and the girl starts to suddenly go crazy and feral, before she drops dead and her body is immediately taken away by some people. Peter tells Tony and/or the avengers that he's seeing this happen to kids all over NYC, and of course it happens to Peter as well.
Some people also try to take away his body but the Avengers prevent them from doing so. Peter is then possessed and has his body controlled by someone claiming to be "Nova".I think that Peter was trying to hurt himself in order to get Nova to stop but I'm not really sure about it. Nova says that his plan is for all the captured kids + Peter to live somewhere without adults (like on a planet in outer space i guess?). The Avengers obviously point out the glaring problems in this plan, specifically mentioning how the kids are going to grow up an become adults too. Eventually Peter manages to wrestle back control of his body, gives a snarky one liner directed at Tony, and then promptly faints again.
After this the team investigates into who Nova could be and find out that he's a child named Avon. They learn that Avon was saved by Spider-Man, and that one night, he had an argument with his parents, after which they both walked onto the road outside and died. The Avengers speculate that this was because of Avon's abilities of mind control (I think they say he's a mutant?), and believe that he was unaware of this at the time and that his parent's deaths was an accident on his part. They link Avon to Nova because they realise that they are anagrams of each other, (I believe Clint is the one who points this out). The discover that he has an older brother, and theorise that this brother is manipulating him into doing all of this.
We find out later that all the kids that were taken away are actually being held at a facility and that each kid is kept in some sort of pod. There's a larger, empty pod that has tubes connecting to all the other ones and it's said/implied that this pod was meant for Peter specifically.
Would really appreciate if someone manages to find this fic. It's been driving me up a wall since I first remembered it and tried looking for it in my ao3 bookmarks and history.
