[Gen] Thor catches a human disease

Slightly inspired by a few other illness prompts this round.

Anyway, I was thinking about how certain populations in the world have been partially decimated due to the introduction of new germs/diseases from a different part of the globe that their bodies had no defense against. Being from Asgard and basically an alien, Thor's physiology is likely to be slightly different from a human's. Although he's been to Earth before, that was a very long time ago, and there are a lot of diseases now that weren't around then.

Now that Thor is spending most of his time on Earth with the Avengers, he's being exposed to a lot of things he's never been in contact with before. His body is able to fight against most things, but not all of them, and eventually he gets sick. It could be something light, like a cold or the flu, or something much more serious. You could also take something small (like the aforementioned cold) and make it serious; maybe it affects his system, which isn't used to the cold, differently than it would ours.

+ Bonus points if Odin puts Thor in quarantine on Earth and won't allow him to return him until he is cured and can't pass the disease on to anyone else. (Feel free to have Loki put in quarantine on Asgard, too, because he was hanging out on Earth a lot as well.)

+ Extra bonus points for serious hurt/comfort with the other Avengers. Maybe when it starts off they do things like bring him blankets and soup and watch crappy daytime television with him. If/when it worsens... I'll leave that up to you.

+ Super extra bonus points if it's up to the Science Bros to find a cure because all of Earth's remedies won't work for whatever reason.

+ I LOVE angst, so the darker this gets, the better. But I'm also a sucker for happy endings. If, however, you want to go for something a bit more lighthearted or even do the unthinkable to Thor, that's fine, too.

+ I'd prefer gen, really, but any pairings are okay except Thor/Loki.

Actually, Thor with the flu could be serious as hell. In 1918, most of the people who actually died of it where young and healthy. It wasn't so much the virus that killed, but the body's defense mechanisms, like fever. Strong people could really cook themselves, while weaker people just got sick and got better. See where I'm going with this? Thor can generate lightning, he might get a fever high enough to actually set the linens on fire, to say nothing of his poor brain.
