So until he came home and found himself in Dotty’s arms again, when he didn’t want to be alone, Cap was there on the ceiling, always smiling and always just on the brink of pulling himself out of the water, ready to show Frankie something he’d never dreamed of before.

OP here and I LOVE THIS and it is PERFECT. Thank you!! It's sweet and hot and funny. Your OMCs are great and I really got a sense of the atmosphere/settng. And I love Frankie. His fantasies and attempts to imagine Steve are sexy and heartwarming and very real, and you really conveyed how this was all helping him get through the war.
