Loki/Steve, Steve loses his powers timemachineyeah October 22 2012, 07:01:31 UTC
Loki hates Steve. He thinks he's a fool for playing by other people's rules all the time and being SHIELD's little lapdog. He thinks that Steve's altruistic act is more deceptive than anything he's ever done. Steve doesn't hate anyone, but he comes about as close with Loki as he ever has. He thinks Loki is selfish, destructive, unable to see beyond his own feelings, and unquestionably on the side of bad. He also doesn't appreciate Loki's love of chaos, as Steve appreciates order and rules, as long as they aren't harmful, because he feels they make things fair.

When something goes wrong with the serum and Steve reverts to the small sickly man he was before, Loki tries taking advantage of the situation by offering to use his magic to return Steve's abilities. And Steve refuses. And Loki offers again. And Steve refuses again. And Loki knows, he just knows, he can figure out what Steve's ulterior motive must be (everyone has one, he's sure, some selfish reason) and twist it to get him to give in so that he can take advantage. And Steve knows, he just knows, that he has to say no to doing it this way, because nothing good could ever come from one of the bad guys and he always wants to do what's right, the right way, for the right reasons; there is no gray area.

They crack each other's world views. AND THEN THEY FALL MADLY IN LOVE AND HAVE LOTS OF SEX.

Extra appreciation if Loki's past crimes aren't overlooked or handwaved away, but treated with real seriousness.
