Those of you for whom there are questions to which I obviously know the answers may feel free to omit said questions. e.g., argon_fc could omit, if he chose, the tattoo/piercings question, since I know his answer to it ( Read more... )

9 is missing. Make up something if you want. - #9 has been replaced with: If life gives you rotten lemons, what good are they??
I say they make a very satisfying, juicy sound on impact. ... And if you aim well, so does the asshole you threw them at. : -D

10. Have you ever kept anything from me?
I’ve never had to yet. ... Or am I lying? ::displays my best poker face:: : -D

11. What do you think of me as a person?
I like you. If more people were like you, the world would be a cooler place (might solve global warming ; -). But then you, and I would seem so mediocre : -)

12. Do you think I'm sane or insane?
Saner than most.

13. Would you cry for me if I died?
I'm not sure. I don't cry much, but you are one of my favorite friends. I might cry, but it would probably take a few days after I heard the news before it hit me.

14. Would you be my crime partner or my conscience?
Depends on the crime, of course. If I thought it was good idea, I'd want in : -D

15. If you could change anything about me, would you?
No. I don’t think so.

16. How do you fall asleep?
With difficulty. It’s strange, because I love to sleep, but I hate falling asleep : -)

17. Ever gotten angry with me?
Not yet.

18. Would you go on a blind date if I set you up?
Hmm... I'm not really looking to hook up right now, or in the foreseeable future. I haven't completely ruled it out, but the though of a relationship is not a big draw for me as it once was. I would have to be convinced that it was worth it, and that might take some doing. But if not for that, I'd have no problem with it. ... Just keep in mind, I like Jennifer Anniston better than Angelina Jolie ; -)

19. If you had one day to live, what would you do?
Cover my tracks, and destroy the evidence : -D Seriously, though, I’d do something fun, and regret that I didn’t have more time.

20. A million bucks… what would you do with it?
I don't think I would tell anyone that I had that kind of money. Some people would undoubtedly find out, but for the most part I'd try to keep it under my hat. I'd probably invest most of it in some sort of mutual funds or something. I'd have to study up on that stuff, 'cause I'm pretty much ignorant about playing the stock market and such. And I'd probably spend some of it to start my own business. Of course I'd also splurge a little, but mostly I'd use it to set myself up for life.

21. What is your worst fear?
I suppose disability is my greatest fear. I'd hate to be paralyzed, or lose a limb, or my vision, or something like that. That would suck.

22. Favorite thing to do in your spare time?
Make stuff. Be it electronic gadgets, or weapons, or whatever.

23. Can you sing or dance?
I can sing okay, for somebody who has no voice training, and doesn't really practice beyond singing in the shower occasionally. Although I suck at singing from sheet music. I used to be a good dancer on skates, but that was a long time ago. And in my shoes I'm no good. I tried it, and I felt so awkward. I wanted my feet to glide when I put them down. Instead they stuck to the floor : -) I'd really like to learn though. It's on my to-do list.

24. In one word, how would you describe me? Be honest....
One word seems insufficient. I could say sensible, smart, talented, cool, and probably a few more. But since I have to pick just one, I'd have to go with awesome : -)

25. Will you repost this so I can fill it out?
Sure. Will do.

Ok, you know question #2? The philosophy question? What if we both try to catalogue our respective philosophies, and have at least one chapter ready for LJ by a certain date? I think that would be a lot of fun, as well as helping both of us get down on paper (or computer screen) the entirety of our thoughts.

Let's set the date if you think this is a good idea.

I have from time to time considered the idea of writing a philosophy book, probably in the form of simple rules to live by. Like a "Dummies" or "Complete Idiots Guide" for, well, dummies and complete idiots, because some of these people really need the advice, and will actually consider it if they read it in a dummies book rather than if they hear it from a friend. Plus there’s lot’s of money to be made in self-help books : -) The thing is, whenever I started to write it, I always had trouble organizing it, and making it all connected into a unified whole. I tend to think in a dynamic, intuitive fashion, so it's hard for me to think of all of the details at once, rather than only when circumstances bring them to the fore. Anyway, before I got too far along, I'd always get involved in a higher priority project, and totally forget about working on the book. ::shrugs:: Such is my life.

What you suggest is an interesting project, but I'm not sure if setting a specific date would be beneficial or not. On the one hand, it might actually make us do it, because of the pressure to meet a deadline. On the other hand, the deadline would be artificial, so we might just not care about the deadline, and then wind up ignoring it in favor of higher priority projects. I suppose it's worth a try, though. Since we tend to hold similar views, it might be helpful, because one of us might write about one thing that came to his mind, but did not come to the other's mind at the same time. The other might do the same thing with another concept. The areas that don't overlap might help remind us of things that we didn't think of as we tried to write it, and help bring everything together; maybe even expand on it a little. If nothing else, it would make for interesting reading.

Also, for the items that we do not just hold as self-evident, such as ones about which our opinions have evolved, or conclusions we came to based on life experience, it would be interesting to read about what brought about those changes in thinking. Exploring the pathways of thought that resulted in our current opinions, and comparing how each of us came to have them, could lead to additional evolution. What the hell. I suppose it's worth a shot. : -D

Now the big non-philosophical question: What sort of timeframe did you have in mind? Perhaps it would be best if we broke it up a bit. We could start out by having each of us write whatever we think of in terms of our personal philosophy. This might give us some insight into which concepts are most important to us ... maybe. Then, once we have an opportunity to read each other’s initial essays, we could discuss them a bit, and that would lead to a more focused subject for future essays. At that time we could suggest topics to each other, and we could cover those in a future essay. It would be a long term project. Perhaps more so than you originally intended. But if the goal is truly to get most of our thoughts down on record, that’s the best approach that I can think of at the moment. Let me know what you think.

P.S. - If we’re not careful, this could become the meme that eats the entire internet : -) ... Of course it would likely also be the first meme that has actual substance to it as well.
