More Very Hot But Very AU Things

It's just another night at the Cat Scratch, all loud music and tight leather over curvy bodies, the dancers slinking and gyrating, most of them drowning slowly in resigned shame and despair over the turns their lives have taken ( Read more... )

Roger's leaning far too comfortably against Mark, sipping calmly from the beer he's holding in one hand and lazily eyeing some of the girls currently on the dance floor. None of them can hold a candle to Mimi, of course, but that's only to be expected.

...Still having fun watching them, though.

Mark, on the other hand, is quite happy drinking his soda (yes, soda) and glancing over at Roger.

He has eyes for no one but his rockstar. Until Mimi comes out, of course.

The other dancers aren't as good, which is why they're not on for long before the manager is announcing 'The Pride of Avenue B, Miss Mimi Marquez!'

The crowd is on its feet, cheering and stomping, and for a second, the theatre goes totally dark.

When it's lit again, Mimi's on stage, clad in a silky bathrobe and perched rather precariously on a metal railing in high-heeled boots, twenty feet above the stage.

Her hair, thanks to Lily, falls to just over the heads of the audience.

Roger just smirks as Mimi is introduced, looking smug and pleased with himself - and why shouldn't he be? He's sleeping with her, after all, which is more than anyone here (well, except Mark) could say.

And then when the lights come on, the smug expression vanishes, to be replaced with one of complete shock. She's absolutely gorgeous. Not that he didn't know that, but... damn.

Mark watches Roger for a moment before looking up at Mimi.

And then he gapes.

He's definately got it worse for Roger, but... damn...

Usually, when Mimi dances, there's a playfulness, a joy, that her audience can see in her eyes, a fire and light that consumes them and makes even their lives seem just a little better, a little brighter, for a while.

Tonight is different, and everyone in the club knows it. Her mood is more focused, more serious - she's dancing for the men she loves, and while her audience might not know the particulars, they can tell this is more serious than usual.

Maybe that's why the crowd is hushed when the robe is pulled off and slips to the stage, revealing a lushly curved body clad in a corset and a very small pair of shorts.

Roger tilts his head to the side, eyeing her in complete silence, a bit of that cocky smile back on his lips. He likes seeing her up there in front of everyone, knowing that she belongs to him... It's a good feeling. And in that outfit...

Suffice to say that he wants her off the stage and in his arms this very second.

Mark's wanting that, too.

Or, rather, he wants her to be somewhere in between him and Roger (or maybe on the outside, with Roger or him in the middle), wearing much much less than that.

Only he's not consciously thinking all that, as his brain is currently mush.

It's only going to get worse for Mark's brain from here.

Mimi slinks her way down the stairs, hips swaying, and dances, slow and sensuous, stopping in front of one of the dancers.

Funny how the girl sort of looks like Maureen.

Funny how Mimi picked that one to snog the Hell out of.

Funny how she's looking through the crowd right at Mark when she does it.

Funny how Mark's not going to be coherant any time within the next 24 hours.

Still smirking, Roger reaches over and settles his hand on Mark's knee, squeezing lightly. He knows exactly what Mimi's doing, and happens to be rather amused by it.

The other dancer puts her arms around Mimi, and when the two women part, Mimi's corset goes with the white girl.

The funny thing about corsets is how little you can effectively wear under them.

Mark wasn't aware that his pants were actually that tight.

Huh. Funny, that.

Roger's eyebrows go up. And he's still smirking as his hand shifts up Mark's leg just a little, fingertips just barely putting enough pressure on his leg to be felt.

His eyes are on Mimi the whole time. "That's my girl," he murmurs with a far too pleased smile.

Mimi slinks into the shadowy part of the stage, then re-emerges arm-in-arm with Aven, the bartender of the Cat Scratch.

Aven is gayer than an Easter bonnet, but he's also hot.

In fact, he kind of looks like Roger.

Roger stops smiling. Starts frowning. He's not pleased with this turn of events.

"What the hell...?" he mutters softly, mostly to Mark.
