JOB LEAD

I had an interview today with a consulting firm. The recruiter believes I am a very good fit for what his client is requesting: somebody with some perl and Unix experience who would be willing to take on a somewhat junior position in order to be molded into their 'perl guru' for a contract-to-perm position. The client also expressed favor for applicants with military background, so hopefully that helps as well. We should be hearing back tomorrow whether or not they want to conduct a telephone screening or an interview. Best case scenario is that I get the contract, they like me, and within a few months they give me an offer of what I was asking for ($30/hr) or slightly more - they'll probably start me closer to $25/hr. Worst case scenario is they pick somebody else and the firm sticks me in a tech support call center making $15/hr until they find me a better contract (or I find something better on my own or through another firm).

Wish me luck.
