On Delays, Drafts and...and something else starting with D
Hi all, these subjects were meant to be posted awhile ago, sadly I allowed life to interfere. Long story, don't worry it won't happen again.
Regardless, I am still waiting on rough drafts for about half of our authors. Please, please, PLEASE send me your drafts. (see either this post http://avatarbigbang.livejournal.com/33404.html or this one http://avatarbigbang.livejournal.com/33175.html for details.) This is not just for me to get access to free fanfics, I'm using the rough drafts to start planning a schedule for posting the final drafts. So yes, it is very helpful for me to see the drafts. I don't want to post two 30K stories both about...I don't know, something sad like...Appa never escaping that circus in a row. I'd like to make sure the final drafts are posted with a decent amount of variety.
I also need the summaries in order to set up the artist sign-ups. And the longer I take to collect rough drafts the longer it will be before that can start. If it comes down to it I'll start the artist sign-ups with what I have now, and some authors may have to miss out on fanart. But I don't want to do that. Besides denying authors a chance to get art being a mean thing for me to do, it will also help the artist sign ups to have the largest possible variety to choose from.
But that's all in the future. In the present we still have a need for betas. (At least I think we do, I haven't seen much activity over on the beta thread http://avatarbigbang.livejournal.com/32952.html) so please head over there and help out. If each of us betas one fic then the job is done. More betaing beyond that is just that much better.
On a final note...that's really it actually. I have gotten good feedback on the progress everyone is making so far, but I'll feel better once I've heard from everyone. I have been told that people can't find the timeline, so I'll start adding it to all my posts starting now.
