Glass and Events...

In 2007, avatar_sitar resolves to...
Get back in contact with some old top hats.
Keep my amethystium clean.
Overcome my secret fear of cellos.
Connect with my inner paganini.
Cut down to ten corsets a day.
Lose ten dresden dolls by March.

Awh... Only ten? What ever will my whale-bone corset frame do? You know, keeping a 36cm frame isn't easy... I think my great-great grandmother was 18 inches. Blargh. Breathe grandmother, breathe!!!
Still, they are quite beautiful, so much work and detail is put into them I can't help but to like them.

I do not fear the cello, I worship the cello. 'Nuff said.

Speaking of some old top hats, I need to keep up my search for a nice one. I went antique shopping today, I didn't find a single top hat, but I did find a curious little device made of brass. It was called a south american "Mate" taster. It looked like a pipe with the top capped off and holes put through the top, like a tea strainer.

Well, holiday wise. It was okay, stressful and too many people, but okay. My mum's family was pent up of course, until Mary Lee pointed out the alcohol and then all of us broke into it, then the conversation was much easier. :P

I was told that my mum's family is actually Slovak and Moravian, coming from somewheres around Brno and Bratislava. I can see why they apparently had such a fit about declaring how they were czech, jeez. :P
Oh, yeah, and that when they first moved over to US, Amerika (Yes, that is how at least Kafka spells it...), my some or such grandmother was somewhat a floosey.

... Interesting what little bottles of vodka, wine and rum can do to my family. Truthiness comes abounding through the family room...

Presents. Well, I was delighted with the arrival of a new camera! :D Best thing ever. The photo clarity is just speechless, I love it.

Also, a BIG thank you to Megan. I love the gift! Finally, I don't have to wait for the telly to play Father Ted! :D

Went today and bought a new monitor, and put in a new desk, after clearing out all of the crap that will amass after a year or so in paper form. Looking from my receipts, I bought a rather boring list of things. Art supplies and food.

Also went on thursday to the new Barnes & Noble. It's bloody huge now with it's own music and video section. They still haven't stocked that much up on books yet, since I couldn't find many of the ones I knew were not rare or under-published, or something. I did pick up some Kafka, of course, and Joyace. I want to start reading Dubliners, I've heard many a good thing from it.

Also, I've become interested in Philip Glass, more over the holidays. Anyone have any suggestions of pieces I should listen to by him?

Gah, semester starts the fourth. Well, a good few more days left, plus, Of Montreal is coming back to seattle. :D

Hmmm, well, Karan and I wise, things over the past three weeks have gone rather amazing and lovely, and some other things, but those are our own matters of business. One thing always to remember, you can learn more and more about people over time, and someone you love enough always has something to share with you.

Gah, what else... I know i'm forgetting something. Oh yes!

Joyeux Anniversaire tgwbs!!! I hope you had a lovely day and that you were able to get away with having an utterly dandy time.

Oh, and also, I came across a book that Terry pratchett and Neil Gailman worked on when I was browsing B&N. I read a short synopsis, and it sounded wonderfully satirical. Forgot the bloody name though, I'll let you guys know if you're interested.

Well, see you later my dears!

A Bientot!
