frightful doctor stories and more car stuff.

I went to meet the new doctor wednesday. I remembered to set aside all the paper work, meds, and other bits I needed to take with me. I left home with enough time to find the place in case I got lost. I found the place right off and even found a parking place right by the door. I decided to relax a bit before going in because I was very nervous, I'm teerified of doctors, hospitals, and other medical stuff, don't know why, and that's not important now. Anyway I was listening to the radio and having a smoke and suddenly I realized that I'd forgotten the big stack of paper work! Oh noes!! So I started up the bus and drove fast home to pick it up. I made it back just in time. I walked up to the desk exactly on time so that worked out ok but when they took my BP it was frighteningly high, 165/97 Very bad. The rest of the interview went very well though and the doctor comiserated with me about my last doc. Cool. so we talked about meds and we talked about pain management and low cost things I could do. she was impressed that I already knew and implimented most of them and I'm happy she knew a few I didn't.

We talked about my bp meds and sge comented that my meds weren't working well at all, that's when I found out how high my bp had been when they checked me. So I had her check it again and it was at my normal, 145/87. Still on the high side but better than the first reading. She asked if I was willing to try something else because I was on high doses of three other meds and it wasn't quite doing the job. She also discovered another thing that made my other doc look very bad. I haven't had any lab work done the entire time I've been seeing this doctor. Not once. And with the cock tail of meds I was on I really need to get things checked fairly often, like almost every month at least for a while. This is worth calling the medical boards all by it'self.

So I'm on a new med and dropped three old ones. A good thing I think since it was getting recockulous the sheer nomber I was doing every night. And the new one is working great. Yesterday my bp was at 132/87, todays number was, are you ready? 125/82!!!!!!! wow, this is way cool, it even makes facing the needle soon worth it. Yea!

On the car front. Yesterday I went in to change the title over. I wasn't at all sure how things would work out. It's been a while since I've filled out those forms and sure enough I got a couple of things wrong but they were easily fixed and I got past the front desk and went on to wait in line. And wait. And wait. And wait...At least I had brought my E-reader and I spent my time reading "Drawing down the moon". I haven't read it since '79 or so and it's been fun noting the changes in later editions.
So finally they called my number and I found my window. I handed over my paper work fully expecting to have them handed back and the person telling me I was short in some way. But no it seems I had everything right and current. I paid my fees and they handed me my new registration sheet and said the title will come in the mail when it comes. I has a new (used) car! It's mine, mine, mine. Now to work on hippyfying it on the inside. The outside will remain white boy white. yes, I *will* make use of my horrid "White man's privallage" and use it to get past the cops. I might as well, it's not like I can give it up for the advantage of those without.

Let's see; doctor? check. Car stuff? Check. Good enough, now today I'll play with the bus a bit and get planes ready for the weekend, it's s'posed to be sunny and warm all weekend with Sunday being the better. I doubt they've actually considered the coastal conditions but that's how it goes...
