We Fight
We bicker, we fight.
We say things we don’t mean in the heat of argument.
We wish to take back those hurtful words.
We don’t mean them.
But they have been spoken, the wounds have been cut, and the pain pours out like blood.
We want nothing more than to take it all back, to heal the open wounds, bandage them with care.
We don’t hate one another.
We love each other.

I see his scars, and I wonder how deep they run.

Love?
I cannot love enemy, but I cannot force myself to hate him.
