random speculation
The Avatar franchise has been one of my favorite fandoms since it's arrival on Nickelodeon in 2005. However, I've noticed that in the break between the beginning of Korra and the end of Avatar:tla, the fandom seemed to fizzle out a bit and become inactive. This is in contrast to other fandoms which seem to thrive no matter what, such as Harry Potter, though admittedly Harry Potter has much more massive amounts of media, exposure, etc. Honestly though, the Avatar universe is one of the coolest in existence, so I don't quite understand that.
Anyways, I've been around places like Pottermore and platform_934 before, because even though I am not the largest Harry Potter fan, a lot of my friends are and they bother me about things like this. Surprise, surprise. And I was thinking to myself, even as someone with limited knowledge of the HP universe, I can admire the whole House system / Sorting thing. Because let's be honest, personality things are always fun, and they are even more fun when you get placed into groups with special abilities that supposedly exemplify your character and among other people who are similar to you. What I'm getting at here is I've always wanted a "sorting" type of thing to exist in the Avatar universe. As in what type of Bender are you? My friends and I have always argued about what element would suit us best, but there's no ultimate authority like the Sorting hat, unfortunately. Still, I'm wondering if any one else would find it entertaining to create some sort of system where avatar_fans could be given to a Nation and an element based on both their personality, preferred style of attack (because we all know all the Bending is based off of different martial arts), beliefs, etc.
