Writer needs words!
Okay. So I’m currently writing a kinda complicated AtLA Fic set in Ba Sing Se before Long Feng’s administration. Long Feng does appear in the fic, but as a sixteen-year-old Dai Li trainee. As kind of a background detail, there’s a lot of anti-immigration sentiment broiling in the city, due to refugees streaming in.
So I need some slurs for outsiders that locals might use.
I already have one, "serpentbait," which is meant to imply that a refugee was too poor to take one of the boats into the city and instead came via the Serpent’s Pass. Granted, I used it in a fic set a good twenty years after the one I'm writing now.
But I need some more. Especially some that might instantly start a fight.
If it helps, the person being insulted is originally from Omashu; his name, Chatri, is Thai.
