Summary: Two years after the Century War, Avatar Aang, Fire Lord Zuko, the Earth King, and the chieftains of the Water Tribes attempt to win the peace. With the Great Continent awash in the chaos of retribution and the Fire Nation seething with intrigue against its new ruler, it is an uphill battle. Behind the scenes in the Royal Palace of the Fire Nation, a young noblewoman fights her own war, where the battlefield is the Court and words are the weapons. But something is about to bring the battle into the open, and Mai must find allies to help in her fight.
Latest chapter: Book 01, Chapter 04: FACES Mai's "visits" with her clan's matriarch aren't going well, and Mai is at a loss to figure out the old woman's game. Meanwhile, Mai's aunt receives a visit from one of the Fire Lord's prospective fiancées, an outspoken Navy officer who has taken a personal dislike to Mai. And what's this about another contender for Zuko's hand in marriage? Is this really a time to spend an evening at the theater?!
Notes: This fic is classified "AR" (Alternate Reality) for a certain liberty taken with canon that should become apparent in the opening prologue.
