There is a new update in Adium today to repair problems with ICQ. Now, one would think that this is because there was a bug in the Adium ICQ protocol, but no, it is politics.
AOL, the corporate overlord of ICQ, changed the version number requirements on their ICQ servers to require windows users to upgrade their clients. This had the nice side effect of stopping all third party IM clients from working with the ICQ network.
Adium and most others have already released a patch that lies to the server (it claims to have the new required version number) that works, for now.
