Forget Forgiveness

Forgiveness is really about the person forgiving rather than the forgiven. It's not about letting someone off the hook, but about keeping anger constructive and healing vs. allowing it to fester into bitterness, resentment and destructive rage. Forgiveness is about mental and emotional hygiene and a healthy heart. So much of what passes as spirituality these days, from Christianity to the post modern new age drivel, teaches us a warped notion of what it means to forgive.  Most "spirituality" is anti-human and well never liberate humanity because it seeks to destroy us and lift up an illusion in its place.
