Well, today turned out to be awesome.
My friends have blessed me beyond what I'd ever thought. It's the simple things, you know? We're dead broke right now. It started with Roy texting our friend Amber to see if there was any way she could help him out with getting some more butterscotch candies so that he could continue to quit smoking.
Oh, well, not only did she do that for him, she picked up two bags and a box of fruit snacks for the girls.
Amber and I were standing at self checks when Michelle noticed I was standing there, and came over to see Z and I. She came over and took over for Raylene on selfs. I had mentioned to Michelle that I'd had to raid Z's bank for the money or we would starve.
Z and I thanked Amber profusely for the treats, and then Z and I went back to grab what we were going to get.
Because there isn't enough money for the month, we were going to stretch it as far as we could. I had raided both Roy and Zerrin's piggy banks for all their silver, and had picked up a loaf of the cheaper wheat bread, two pounds of hot dogs, and a pound of baloney.
Honestly, I'd felt like shit having to do it. Z thinks that money is just something to play with and stack at this point, and I didn't really want to have to use her 'toys' for getting us something to eat. But... desperate times, ya know?
I had put everything in the bag after I'd scanned it, and I'd pulled the change out of my pocket and was counting it, when Michelle came over and slid me a $10. I was incredulous. "Michelle, what the hell do you think you're doing? No." I'd said. I was humbled, and of course, almost immediately started crying in public.
Me = SAP.
She told me to keep the piggy bank money for the girls, because it's already too hard for Roy and I when we don't have any help with school supplies from the girls' deadbeat father. She said that she'd get her blessings back in kind when she needed help. And she wants to come over tomorrow and bring her kids for the girls to play with.
...which means that I have a crap ton of cleaning frenzy to get on, but I'm too tired to do much of anything save sit on my butt.
Well... I have a 100.9% in my Thurs class, which was Business Ethics, and I only missed ONE out of 100! And I have a 93.94% in my Customer Service class, which was my Weds class, and got 65/75 questions right. Eh, I know I'm hard on myself, but it's OK.
It really, really is. =)
