Summary: Ficcy Friday's prompt from logicisfailing of Jeff confesses something to Abed about Annie.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Can I tell you something?"

Abed wants to say no, because suddenly Jeff has his serious expression on, the real one. The one he wears when he knows he's losing, but desperately doesn't want to, and does anything to stop.

Abed really wishes Jeff would stop. Talking that is. Obviously the re-enactment of My Dinner with Andre has failed. Horribly. Epic Fail. Abed doesn't want to see Jeff fail this hard in front of him, without even knowing he is, but for once in his life Abed actually feels embarrassed for Jeff. So much so he's kind of frozen. It's like reality tv, it's horrible and uncontrollable, but sometimes you can't turn away.

Jeff is leaning forward, Abed notes the spark of shame in his eyes.

Abed thinks that now, now would be the time to pull the breaks. He has to say something, anything, but preferably No, Stop or Please, Don't.

"I have sex dreams about Annie."

In Abed's mind, he can hear Troy, SAY WHHHAT? -and has to agree.

Okay, so it's not horrible. Annie is an attractive girl, Jeff's a guy, they've kissed once before, see each other a lot. Television can give him a thousand different ways why this, while embarrassing to hear about or say, isn't unnatural. Everything can easily go back to normal if he just says something. Anything. Random noise? It would do.

He opens his mouth, but it's pointless. Jeff isn't stopping. He's speaking, and Abed has his mouth hanging slightly open like an abandoned puppet.

"I dream about her a lot. Like, an unhealthy amount, and I'm a dude, so...that's nearly impossible right? You'd think that, but you'd be wrong. Way wrong. There is nothing healthy with me waking up three times a night to change my sheets. Do you know how many times I have to do laundry? Four times a week, Abed. Most of it, is sheets. It's got to a point where I'm thinking of just giving up on ever being able to get it up for another woman that might as well just buy plastic sheeting or something. It would be cheaper in the long run."

Abed never wants to have another real conversation with Jeff, if this is what he gets.

"-and I can't by the way. Not really, I mean I'll be making out with a chick. She'll be hot and it will be great, but then my mind will think of Annie and I just end up feeling dirty." Jeff buries his face in his had, "Oh god, I am. I'm a dirty old man. What the hell happened to me? I've never, ever wanted to sleep with someone this young before. Hell, even when I was her age, I was going after older women! So what is it about Annie that makes me hard as hell if she takes off her cardigan? Cardigans are not sexy. Unless you have some weird school-girl or naughty teacher fetish, which now thinking about it I'm probably developing. It's bad enough when I just kept dreaming about her handcuffing me, you know like she did when she was playing cops? Damn it, she was hot. Like legally, at her age, she shouldn't be that fucking hot. I shouldn't have gotten hard when she hand-cuffed me and slammed my head against the table."

Abed feels like he lost the ability to blink, turns out, Jeff falling apart is captivating. He does it well.

"But I did, and I will continue to, because I find Annie Edison sexually attractive." Jeff says, in the most honest, refreshed voice. Abed finally blinks, takes it in.

"God, this is incredible. I mean to be able to talk this openly about this," Jeff is smiling, "Why can't we just talk this openly all the time? What's wrong with the world?"

Before Abed can even get a word in edgewise, Annie is stomping up to their table.

"Jeff," she hisses, trying not to draw attention to her herself but still express her anger. "What are you doing? You guys are really late, and Britta is freaking out!"

Jeff gives her a relaxed, charming smile. "The party is canceled. We're doing something better, we're talking."

"Talking?"

"About how I have sex dreams about you, because I find you sexually attractive."

He says it, out loud, and almost proudly. As if he had just said he finds her handwriting beautiful.

Annie's lips part, and her eyes get wide. It's here, Abed realizes exactly who she is, or at least dressed up like and puts everything together. Oh. Oh. He needs to leave now.

The waiter choose this time to come over, "Is everything okay?"

Abed, "Uh, yes. Just the check please." he hurriedly asks. Not even looking up. This is all going to unravel in a few short seconds and Abed really doesn't want to make eye contact.

"I'm sorry, so you're ending early, because in My Dinner with Andre the waiter-"

The waiter doesn't stop even with Abed making numerous hand gestures to make him stop talking.

"Check, checccck." He snaps.

"Abed."

"hmhm?" He still doesn't want to look up. Jeff is not going to be happy.

"Abed...what's My Dinner with Andre?" His voice is low, but with a hint of steel in it.

"It's just a move about uh, two guys talking at a restaurant..."

Jeff removes his phone from his glass of water. "So this wasn't a real conversation. This wasn't us, being honest and sharing? You were doing another movie?"

"...a movie about a real conversation." Abed points out. It makes Jeff slam his fists on the table.

"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?"

Jeff yells, "I just told you my biggest secret, I told you everything! I told her every-" It hits Jeff, that there is still on person that has yet to talk.

Annie.

Who, by the looks of it, has been frozen all this time.

"Oh god." Jeff whispers. This seems to jolt Annie, making her bolt from the room. Neither Abed or Jeff get up to stop her. "Oh god." He says again. Slumping down in his chair to slam his head into the table. The water in the glasses shake, and spill with every dull thud.
Abed shifts uncomfortable, this is possibly, all his fault.

"If it helps..." he begins, "I don't think it's weird that you like her."

The slamming stops.

"Annie isn't exactly underage, and younger, older based couples tend to work out better. Also, you and Annie work. You keep her grounded, and remind her to have fun, while she gives you the drive and confidence to do more."

When even this, doesn't seem to get Jeff to lift his head, Abed tries again.

"-I also happen to know she dreams of you too, but only because she told Britta, and Britta always tells us everything we'd never wanted to know about our friends. Like you, with the nipple thing."

"Damn it Britta! Does everyone know? -and are you serious?" Jeff finally sits up, and doesn't look like he's being weighed down with shame.

"Yes and Yes."

Jeff curses again, and pushes himself out of the chair in a haste, running in the direction of Annie.

Abed finally feels like everything will go back to normal, perhaps even better than before.

Troy magically appears, and scoots in next to him.

"Ooo, no no juice!"
