Standing on the porch of Jacob and Edward’s home, Jasper watched as Luka chased after Lilliana and Taylor on wobbly legs. His two year olds delighted screams brought a smile to Jasper’s lips. Leah stepped up next to Jasper, taking a large bite out of an apple.
“Kid sure is growing,” she commented.
“Sure is,” Jasper agreed. “Seems like just yesterday we were giving him his first bath.”
“So when are you and Seth going on vacation?” Leah questioned taking another bite from her apple.
“Vacation?” Jasper raised an eyebrow. Sure he had gotten Seth to go away for a couple of days here and there but since moving a year ago they hadn’t gone more than a couple hours away. Honestly, the thought of taking an extended vacation hadn’t even crossed his mind.
“Yeah, one of the big things you’ve got to remember after you have a baby is to be sure to take time for each other.”
“Papa! Ka run!” Luka laughed just before Taylor grabbed him and threw him into the air.
Jasper laughed. “Easy there Tay.”
“No worries Uncle Jazz.”
“What do you think?” Leah asked.
Jasper blinked. “About what? Oh, vacation. If we can get Seth to agree I’m all for it. He doesn’t like to leave Luka for long.”
Leah rolled her eyes. “I’m sure we can convince Seth.”
“Convince me to what?” Seth questioned as he came up behind them. Jasper and Leah turned, sharing a look before Leah rolled her eyes.
“It’s time you guys take a vacation, get away for a week,” she stated.
“I told her that you probably wouldn’t want to,” Jasper said at the same time.
“No we should.”
“What?” Jasper questioned, his surprise coloring both their emotions.
“I would hate to be away from Luka for very long but… he’s old enough now to start dealing with us being gone for an extended period,” Seth said thoughtfully. “No more than a week but more than a couple of days.”
Leah grinned and threw her arm around Seth’s shoulders. “That’s my baby brother!” Now Seth rolled his eyes.
“So what’s the plan Jazz?”
Jasper blinked. “Well…I… I’ll think of something?”
Seth grinned, slipping out from Leah’s grasp to kiss his imprint quickly on the lips. “I know it’ll be amazing. It’ll be nice for it to just be us for a little bit.”
