Did you see the movie Mysterious Skin with JGL? That movie will fuck you up even more than the book! Funny I don't recall aliens in the movie? I think it was something in his mind? I'd have to re watch it.
Maybe you can help me since you are such a bibliophile. I've been in a reading funk lately and I can't get out of it. I have seriously picky tastes!
My favorite author has to be Ken Follett. 'Pillars of the Earth' and its sequel 'World without End' has no equal on this earth. Followed by Anne Rice's early work like the 'The Witching Hour' and all the sequels and my favorite book ever 'Cry to Heaven'.
I love history, sex, violence, intrigue, music, art, architecture etc.
I don't do young adult novels! *shrugs* I'm over angst. I gave twilight a try when I was 19 and that is my last foray into the young adult section.
I did see it. I have it on my list to buy. Yeah, they hit on the aliens in the movie. That's what he called the molestation.
Hm...I've heard that Laurell K. Hamilton & Charlaine Harris are both sexy authors. Haven't read anything of theirs yet but it's on my list.
I read a lot of YA so that limits what I know quite a bit XD

My favorite vampire series ever is "The Blood Books" by Tanya Huff. The vampire is the bastard son of Henry the VIII so there's that history aspect. Oh and when Henry bites some they have an orgasm.
The best book I read this past year was Water for Elephants. There's quite a bit of violence in it.
OH if you want violence I really recommend the sequel series to "The Blood Books", it's better if you read those but you don't have to, they could stand on their own well enough. It's the "Smoke" series by Tanya Huff. The
