Simon didn’t have a guide to the vampire world. He’d had offers but being a normal boy one day and a vampire the next… it was a hard adjustment. So he’d never taken up any of those offers.
Maybe that was why, now, he found himself experiencing yet another thing that no one had ever told him or written about vampires. Yeah, he had done his research. It seemed so simple honestly. Why couldn’t have anyone ever written that a vampire would be forever connected to anyone they fed from?
It was like having a little thread in the back of his mind. That little thread told him wherever that person was. Maybe this was why vampires had human subjugates… and maybe it was because he had drank Jace’s blood, angel’s blood, that he could feel the condition of the Shadowhunter.
That was how he found himself there now. Just after Clary had healed Jace of a rather serious wound, the blood still wet on his skin, the blood still tempting Simon. It was lucky for him, perhaps unlucky for Jace and Clary, that the wound had been on Jace’s shoulder. The look on Clary’s face when he stepped up behind Jace, his arms wrapping around the other man’s waist and more importantly… Jace submitting to him, baring his neck, was priceless.
Simon felt a smirk grow on his lips as he brought them close to the still sparkling blood. He felt the barely there shudder that went through Jace’s body. Could feel the want and need thrumming through that thread in his mind. His dark eyes met Clary’s over Jace’s shoulder, something that wouldn’t have been possible if Jace hadn’t slumped a little at his touch.
“All’s fair in love and war,” he purred before sinking his teeth into Jace’s skin.
