Drabble: Moonlight Madness

Alec whistled as he tended the blooming roses in his garden. The sun had gone down a couple of hours ago so it was safe for him to be outside. The moon had just started to rise above the tree line, it was full and huge. He was really just bidding his time. Any moment Embry would be coming out of the house…
Embry insisted over and over that the moon had no effect on shifters. But after thirty years Alec knew that just couldn’t be true. The full moon may not have made shifters phase but it did effect them. Embry denied it, but when the first rays of the full moon touched the Earth… Embry became… insatiable.
The back door to the house opened as Alec clipped a dead bloom off one rose bush. He continued to whistle as he listened to Embry’s quiet footsteps coming closer. Alec clipped another bloom off as Embry’s warm arms wrapped around his waist. Warm lips pressed against a sensitive part of his neck and Alec tried not to grin.
“What was it you said… about not being affected by… the moonlight?” He questioned softly.
Embry’s growl was soft but got his annoyance across. “Not. A. Word.”
