Prompt: Kneeling
Robert laughed at something Taylor said as they left one of the many Starbucks in Vancouver. For once the rain had kept most people inside so they weren’t mobbed by fans. Taylor kept the hood of his jacket raised as a way to escape the rain but Robert carried an umbrella.
On the way back to their hotel they passed a shop that had a bunch of TV’s sitting in the window. “Hey look Rob, it’s you,” Taylor said before taking a sip of his hot chocolate. They both stopped and watched the TV’s, all of which were on the same channel.
“Sources say that Robert and Kristin are planning a quiet ceremony once the filming for Eclipse wraps,” the newswoman reported. Robert nearly choked on his latte.
“Planning a quiet ceremony? For what?”
Taylor chuckled. “C’mon Rob, haven’t you seen the tabloids? You and Kristin are involved in something hot and heavy. She’s pregnant with your love child and you’re getting married. Even People is saying you guys are an item…” He trailed off as he watched scenes of Robert and Kristin, as both just them and as Bella and Edward, play on the TV screens.
Robert watched Taylor’s expression, it was sad. “If only they knew the truth,” he murmured.
“Hm?” Taylor questioned taking another sip of his hot chocolate.
Robert kneeled on the wet ground, putting his umbrella down. Taylor thought he was getting ready to tie a loose shoelace as he watched Robert set his latte down. He didn’t expect Robert to start digging in his pockets.
“Rob…what’re you…?”
Robert opened the ring box, which held a simple silver band, and held it up to Taylor. “Marry me?”
Taylor’s eyes widened and he dropped his hot chocolate. “Wha-what?”
“We’ve been dating since three months into the filming of Twilight Tay. We’ve kept it quiet but I don’t want all these false rumors about me and someone I’m not even remotely interested in going around anymore. If there’s going to be rumors I want them based on the truth. The truth is that I love you, I want you, for now and forever,” Robert stated staring into Taylor’s eyes. “Will you marry me?”
Taylor could only stare at Robert and the ring in disbelief before he felt a smile start. He took the ring from the box and slipped it onto his left ring finger. “Yes.”
“What was that?” Robert questioned standing, a smile of his own growing.
“YES! Yes I’ll marry you!” Taylor exclaimed wrapping his arms around Robert. Their lips almost couldn’t meet for Robert’s grin but they managed. Lips and tongues met in a series of intense kisses. “I can’t believe you just asked me this!”
Robert smiled and kissed Taylor again. Across the street a camera snapped their picture.
