Okay. I did it. Right now, I have a brand new Canon Rebel digital SLR camera in my possession... and not only that, I bought a memory card for it, Chuck Palahniuk's new book and a birthday present for John. Um. That's a lot of money.
I'm spent.
No pun intended.
At least I have convinced myself that I am, in fact, making a very good investment. Not only can I start building a better portfolio, I am pretty much good to go for whatever classes I may be taking next spring. In terms of hardware, I have everything I need except extra lenses and a better flash apparatus. But they can come later. Not to mention that this camera is just... awesome. Once I have all of the functions down, I'm set. There will be no foreseeable end to the pictures I will take. [Insert sinister laughter here.]
As far as Chuck Palahniuk, well... I can't control myself, I think. And I'm always excited to spend money on presents for other people. So, those last couple of purchases didn't really phase me. Maybe I was still in camera shock. But I sure as hell better start saving more money as soon as humanly possible.
