[LJ Edit: To Claudette Simonne, My Art of Listenign Teacher]
Hello, I am writing to arrange a time to write the test, as I have been with the
time and a half. [LJ EDIT: I write with the OSD so I qualify for time and a half]
On an unrelated note I was the one today whom asked you about the song Opus
Relingque which I thought resembled the peice 'Symphony Fantastic' in the sense
that title may be a translation (the band is Norwegin or Swedish) of 'Opium
Dream' which was the theme of the 5th movemensection. I beleive I'm wrong b/c I
looked up the song lyrics and the song alludes to a 'Senguine' and the women in
the symphony was Harriete.
I am actually quite curious what you would think of symphonic metal(the genre the song Opus Relinque is from). It was my drive to take the course so I could better understand and appreciate whats going on in the songs (now I can actually match the sounds to their instruments and I hear a lot more then just the vocals when I listen). What may appeal to you about this over-arching genre of music is the opratic influence in the female soprano vocals, entire orchestra's hired on occasion, the popular use of violin, piano and many other unexpected instruments. I thought it may be of some relevance to you as 'new age' music, although it is a near purely European (mostly Scandanavien) phenomina.
Sorry to plague you with a long e-mail (I tend to drole on and on about my music lol)
