Miles to Go

So to prove I am not completely ignoring the ‘Miles to Go’ series I thought I’d post a little snippet of my character development of Pike. This will not be in the story, ‘Holding Up the Sun,’ other then what I’m creating of his background and his voice that I’m sorta, kinda building from the ground up. I did the same thing with Primrose, but that never saw the light of day.

I blame the Rise Against song, ‘Savior’ and dana_chosenart  for the lovely artwork that’s been inspiring me for this series.

Once upon a time there was this stuck-up bitch. We’ll call her Summers, ‘cause the name Buffy makes me think two-bit porn star down on her luck, and yes, I got a tooth knocked loose when I informed her of those particular thoughts. As I was sayin’ once upon a’time there was Summers.

Summers who was blissfully happy with a handsome, upstanding guy. He was popular, she was popular and they probably would’ve married, procreated and had blissfully popular rugrats.

But then she met me.

And got called as a Slayer or some shit.

Either way Summers became tolerable and I found myself kinda falling for her. Did I mention she was hot? She was. In a midget sorta way. And I’ve got a rib that still eff’ing hurts when it’s cold ‘cause I might’ve told her she could petition ‘Bridget the Midget’ for her fan base at one point during our relationship. A relationship that was over before it began because, jackass that I am, I thought I slowed her down.

I thought I’d get her killed.

Well, she got killed anyways.

I loved her. Never told her. She died and I never told her.

If that isn’t a kick in the nuts.

Which Summers also did once.

Fuck I miss her.
