It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Ahh My husband is done with school and done with work for the year. It sure is nice to have him home. The year is so hard sometimes, with him being gone so much of it. But, I'm thankful. He may be busy doing homework, but at least he's physically here. I have a friend whose husband travels for work and it seems like he is gone all of the time. I would hate that.
2 days left til Christmas. We've done well this year. Our Elf, Gubnat, has only repeated his location a couple of times, and I had a stroke of ingenuity the other night. Gubnat is helping us with our Christmas countdown chain. When we forget to remove the links during the day, Gubnat helps us out at night. Especially since it is so close to Christmas. I think that will be Gubnat's job until the Big Day.
I still haven't gotten the kids Christmas portraits done. I had such grand plans. I was going to rent some lights and get these done weeks ago. Then Connor got sick. Then Rowan got sick. And then it was only a week til Christmas. Ah well. I will try to get them done beforehand, but it may end up like last year, and happening in Feb. I have gotten so bad about not taking photos on time. I'm still 6 months late in getting Rowan's 3 year portraits done! It's hard to do when I don't have much in the way of support because Dan is always so busy.
We took the kids on a Christmas train on Friday. It would have been a much cooler trip except that the track was being worked on and the train only went back and forth in front of the station. But the kids got to see Santa and got cookies and hot chocolate. They really liked it, though they were disappointed that the train didn't go anywhere.
I was going to go into so much more...my sister weighs heavily on my mind. But, I suppose that will be another entry.
