Rainbows and Rings
This week has gone much better than I could have expected after giving my two weeks. The problem children have been on vacation, although I do realize that they will be back on Monday, the acting director hasn't really bothered me much because she's so beside herself on what needs to be done (she has to hire for 6 positions by the middle of August at the latest), and she even went home one day because she almost had a seizure in front of the district manager again. We also had someone from another center help with the field trip so I didn't have to drive this week :)
I've also been over to Bright Horizons a couple times this week to fill out some paperwork and talk about upcoming events. Yesterday I worked an hour at KLC and was sent home so I wouldn't have overtime, so in the afternoon I went to BH and we talked and met the other teachers for about and hour, maybe more. The building is so positive and I really hope I fit into the mold there because the teachers work so well together. I am afraid sometimes that I've learned too many bad habits from kindercare and I won't be able to break them. I know I raise my voice an awful lot :(
I'm also very proud of myself yesterday for going shopping. I'm not proud that I spent money, but I'm proud that I was able to find dress pants that were also cargo pants for Tyler. He's been looking for black cargo pants to wear to the office for a while now because he has two cell phones to carry and he's tired of his actual dress pants looking like he's carrying a cantaloupe in his pocket. I found him some very dark grey cargo pants from Dockers, but I also got him two pair in the correct size too :) I don't normally buy clothes for guys so this is a big accomplishment for me.
While I was at the mall I also picked up some things from Victoria Secret for the honeymoon, and a strapless bra because I don't have one. I saw my friend Ashley at the photography place and we went out to lunch to catch up. It is very hard for the two of us to plan anything so we just have to bump into each other. After lunch I picked up some acne medicine at BBW and went to Kay jewelers. Now Tyler and I have had our wedding rings since November, but I've been thinking about my wedding ring since I had play dough stuck in my engagement ring in March. I wedding band has some very small channel set diamonds, and the more I think about it, the more I worry that if I wear it to work often they diamonds will fall out. So I talked to the people at Kay and we found a very plain 2mm gold band that I bought to wear as my wedding ring to work. I debated not telling Tyler until I actually wore it for the first time, but I decided to tell him while we ate dinner last night. He wasn't very upset at all. I think it helped that the ring was only $60 and I didn't spent too much money on it.
I feel like we're just about set for the wedding with the guest bags almost done and the attendants presents already wrapped. It's going to feel like a long 56 days because we're so ready to go. Right now I just wish I would receive all the responses so I can start a seating chart. Oh well, I should probably just get through he bridal shower first :p
