Hm, well, that would be an interesting twist. I always sort of figured Tony would die towards the end of the show, really. I just hope this season doesn't become like last season...where nothing really happens for nearly the entire time, and then finally the thing with Adrianna goes down which I don't think was a surprise to anyone. They strung that out a little bit too long, imho.
I'm just wondering what else they can do without really repeating themselves or becoming annoying. We know none of Tony's guys will really be able to handle the responsibility, so they'll go down flaming, taking each other with them, and the whole crime family thing would end up self-destructing. Which I'm fine with, so long as it doesn't become boring.
It seems to be a weird thing with shows on HBO, the 3rd or 4th season malaise. Six Feet Under had a similar problem, though the last season was, I felt, amazing. It was the one before it that seemed like the writer wasn't really into it. The Sopranos seemed to have the same problem, but I'm still hoping this season will surprise me.
