Here's a funny hitchiking story: As I was hitching into town yesterday, I saw a truck coming so I turned around and started walking backward with my thumb out. As I wasn't looking where I was going, I accidentally stepped off the road and fell in the ditch, scratched my leg up something impressive, too. Blood and grass stains everywhere. The guy stops and he says, "You know, I don't normally pick up hitchhikers, but you seem so bad at it I'll give you a break."
