Novel Posting

Oct 25, 2004 17:31

In 2002, I chucked my novel into the fireplace at first opportunity. In 2003, I posted a few excerpts online. And for 2004, I've finally worked up the courage to post my NaNo novel online as it's written. However, contrary to what some of you may believe *g*, I do have a heart and will be placing entries containing the actual novel behind a protected friends list. I have no wish to inflict 50,000 hastily written words of meaningless jumble upon non-Wrimos.

To those who will be following along my novel (or as I envision it, skimming through my moaning and groaning as they peruse their friends list), here's a few things I hope people will bear in mind:

1. The novel may or may not contain content of controversial nature. (Example: slashy relations between known and beloved literary characters) Heck, I'm just letting my muse run free for a month. If you have a problem with such matters or are concerned for the salvation of my soul, please arrange to have a lengthy discussion with me after November.

2. Although you may have good intentions when pointing out grammatical mistakes, please refrain from doing so. Throughout November, I will be neglecting the rules of the English language. (Save for those dreadful class papers, of course!)

3. Corollary to above: the same applies for spelling mistakes. Unless, of course, they are truly atrocious.

4. Feel free to post shallow words of encouragement. Even ones that have nothing whatsoever to do with what I'm writing. *g* I'll love you for it. Naturally genuine words of encouragement are always appreciated.

For those who are still interested in reading the novel [plot summary], either comment on this entry or find some alternate means of communication (email, IM, phone, bang my door down, etc.) and I'll add you. =]
