Today was both very happy and very sad

I'll get the sad out of the way first. My computer, which has been in its death throes now for about three months, has finally really totally actually bitten the proverbial dust. It's over, probably. It's caught in a 'startup loop'...basically it comes on (yay), almost boots up but then goes to the blue screen saying, 'configuring updates stage 3 of 3 - 0% complete.' Then it shuts itself off and reboots and does the same thing over again. Literally, it would just go on booting up and shutting itself down forever. I'm sad, because it means no skype for me until I buy a new one, which I'm not so sure about right now. Vacation was expensive, and then there's the whole Japanese keyboard thing...not so sure about that.

The happy was KONO!!! He came back for summer vacation. I actually got back to Kitsuki just after practice yesterday, so I met him and his older brother hanging out in the dojo. I saw his older brother first (there are three of them, I call them DaiKono (Big Kono), ChuuKono (Middle Kono, but everyone laughs at because chuu can mean 'middle'...or it can mean 'kiss' lol), and KoKono (Small Kono)). I was happy to see DaiKono, and it showed, but when I saw ChuuKono I gave him a big hug and he laughed and told his brother he was obviously my favorite. (Well, yeah! lol) Today was his last day in town, and my first day back at judo. He ran up to me and said, "Let's fight Kelly!" in English -- he's gotten braver. Last year he and I practiced together all the time, and I've been missing my teacher since he's gone off to college. So we practiced together, and man, he has turned into a rock. I couldn't move him at all. He told me I'd lost weight, but I don't think so...I think he's just gotten monster-strong and I feel lighter! haha

And of course, he wasn't wanting to tell me this, but it came out eventually. He WON the college national championships this summer! ドンダケ強くなった、ね! I couldn't believe it when he told me...though it did explain how much harder he was throwing me around. I'm so happy for him, because that was always his goal and he worked really hard for it.

And now, since I have three classes tomorrow and my computer is broken, which wipes out the plan I had for class, I have to come up with something to teach. じゃあね!
