i had asked john when he told me about this why they hadn't removed the thyroid in the first place if the damn thing wasn't working anyway...
my answer...
Because the drugs killed the first tumor. On state run medicaid, I receive the cheapest drugs possible and the least costly treatments. I have not even had the biopsy yet and they are arguing over whether they will pay for just the lumpectomy...have half my thyroid removed, or finally take the whole thing out.
The whole problem with my meds at the start of the year was that W VA changed it's 'formulary' and refused to tell the doc or the pharmacies what they WERE willing to pay for now. A lot of my drugs had to be changed to things that my psychiatrist, medical team, and pharmacist ALL agree are sub standard treatments for me.
