rushing over to Volta art fair, it's the 3-headed form of Krudarva!;)
taking a moment to be thankful for my lovely art fair ladies/cohorts. it was twice as sweet drinking in all the art with them both and picking out things we know the other will love/respond to.
Upon entering we saw these interesting sculptures protruding like protoplasm from the wall. strange hybrids and sensors. subtle movement on some.
+shelf fungus. (!) ok so I love most things with shelf fungus. sue me.;)
beautiful lightbox works by Marcello Moscheta @ Volta art fair. convincing mountain scene photos created originally with rocks and flour:)
wonderfully intricate ink drawings @ Volta art fair. must find artist's name?
this was just brilliantly executed. a wall of video boxes, each showing a different array of pill shapes (from actual pill foils which were there in 3D) with tiny moving figures within each one. by Samuel Rousseau @ Volta art fair
just a portion of a whimsical wall-sized 'zoo' work full of monsters and creatures @ Volta that delighted us. reminds me of trish franey's work which I love out here..
Neil Faber @ Volta
These changeling paintings by G L Brierley @ Volta art fair really knocked us out. At first I wasn't even going into the booth- honestly- all looked grotesque from afar. But when i/we did- we just couldn't believe our eyes. They are magical. the details exquisite and mesmerizing...and they somehow seem to change with light and distance and when you photograph them..becoming more and less 3dimensional and revealing hidden things. My pick for strongest painting work I'd seen at the fairs this year.
