Virtual Haiti Relief Meeting in SecondLife
Snowday from work(!) and able to attend a Haiti Relief meeting in avatar form instead
within the virtual world of SecondLife.
Visiting speakers regarding alternative media efforts w/ real life Haiti initiatives....
and an after-tour by the lovely In Kenzo of the new interactive exhibits and event prep on the NonProfit Commons prims:

Speakers include Jackie Brosseuk from Partners for Others,
Davey Macbain of Ushahidi (Crowdsourcing Crisis Relief),
and Brian Concannon for IJDH (Insitiute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti)

Afterwards, my friend In Kenzo gives a tour of the evolving interactive Virtual Haiti exhibit which
contains embedded information, links and donation kiosks within SecondLife.
At last count Virtual Haiti efforts have raised approximately $6,500,
with another large inworld fundraising event planned for this weekend.:
