Cyclones and Earthquakes

May 15, 2008 16:43

May 2- 12 Erratic, amplified and devastating energies internal, external and global.
At the same time that there was an unexpected storm of energies in my home/heart which I am learning so much from (re: pain, anger and compassion)...the larger planet is in turmoil..

Cyclone Nargis in Myanmar/Burma
thoughts of the unrest spirtual/political...the strange juxtaposition of monks and violence....swirls torrents, wave of death:(! Nargis named after the flower Narcissus.

I read this article which is in line with my thoughts related:
Hurricane of Emotions, Sea of Calm

then focus on healing, reconciliation, heart area...and perfectly Pangea Day was May 10th...I watch inspiring and amazing videos on pangeaday.org..with hopeful message that is the connecting of the world...and again it seems to speak directly:
Mutual Recognition ...which if I wasn't listening closely enough, you'll see it ends with footage the swarms I had just recently been entranced by and posted about(?!?!)

...and then on Monday May 12-
Earthquake in Sichuan, China not so very far from Burma...
:(!!

Having watched the documentary 'Manufactured Landscapes' I also couldn't help but think of the Three Gorges Dam Project in China...and wonder about the possibility of induced seismicity...:(??

not pleased to see this from an article way back in 2003:
“The dam is built to withstand earthquakes up to 7.0 on the richter scale, and the largest recent earthquakes have been below 6.0. However, filling the reservoir behind the dam creates seismic pressure which triggers earthquakes. In fact, earthquakes between 6.0 and 6.5 are expected once the reservoir is filled in 2009."

expected????

am still trying to process and learn....

everything has meaning to me on many layers/planes...
"During the Ming Dynasty major architectural works were created in Sichuan. Bao'en Temple is a well-preserved fifteenth century monastery complex built between 1440 and 1446 during Emperor Yingzong's reign (1427-64) in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Dabei Hall enshrines a thousand-armed wooden image of Guanyin/Avalokiteshvara and Huayan Hall is a repository with a revolving sutra cabinet." wikipedia sichuan
