"Glistening snatches of Candyland worlds, populated by plastic green houses and color-topped game pieces of beautified nails. The pieces seem suspended in motion as they pause in lush green backyards by aqua pool sides or set on picture-perfect pavement on their way to see friends, family or go to the store. These miniature worlds are drenched in hot pinks and vivid green with plenty of bright colors and topped off with extra shine.
If the art both attracts and repels in its Stepford-wife perfection, that’s a good thing. You’ve just caught one layer of Southampton resident Darlene Charneco’s artwork. There are stacks of more meaning where that came from. ...."
