Day 2,226 - "Battle of the Sexes"

Oct 26, 2004 15:05

I find it interesting whenever I go to places with message boards or the like how you will without a doubt find someone totally rubbing on the male gender, say how horrid they are and how much she wishes they'd all just go away. (Though usually the language is more... profound). And then, you'll nine out of ten times, find a guy in the same area dissing on the ladies and saying how much he wished that they'd just bug off.
Isn't it interesting how we as basic humans are so easily subdued by the whims of the wind? One girl says one thing about a guy, it's repeated, and the domino effect is set in motion. A guy talks bad about a girl, and the rumors spread like flies on potato salad.
I'm not defending either argument, mind you, I'm more of the voice of reason calling out amongst the screams of chaos. I understand there are prime examples of jerks, hot heads, cheaters, and the like out there, I'm just wondering if it's so very just to put this label on everyone just because they happen to belong to the same gender. Think about it. I know how much I'd hate being called a hooker just because the hooker a guy saw on the streets in New York was female, (as I am).
Bear in mind before calling ALL guys jerks, that there are a few good ones still around, (yes, they're out there.) And remember, before you say all women are too emotional, be glad at least that there ARE women. (Without us, guys, you wouldn't be around, now would you?)
Not all people are bad, though often times the bad apples seem to make a vaster majority. To quote a Hobbit, (of all people), "there's some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for."
