Day 2,262 - "Holiday Madness"

Nov 30, 2004 11:56

I recently pre-ordered what will most likely become my new favorite (anime) movie! I couldn't believe that I could actually pre-order "Saiyuki: Requium", but I did! Oh I'm just about ready to 'splod with excitement!!! Of course, it won't be out until January 18th of 2005, but at least that's not too far away!
Anyways, onto things of more importance...

You know, I think around this time of year, everybody and his brother actually looses their minds. No, I'm dead serious! I walked into a book store the other day and someone ran up to me and started babbling about how they couldn't find a certain book, and then the starting asking me if I knew where I could find it. Well, being the good Samaritan I am, I tried to help the frantic lady, only to find out that she really didn't want my help. She just wanted somebody to tell! I swear, crazy people.

So I go to Wal-Mart to buy some little umbrellas, (you know, the kind you stick in those drinks?), and the place is crawling with crazy people! I thought I was off my nut... I overheard a lady talking to NOBODY! She was standing in the Christmas aisle, looking at mugs, talking to herself! I tried so hard not to laugh until I was at least three rows away... "No, I think Jeremy would like the polar bear...". Oh. My. Gosh.

On my way home, I was passed by someone, even though I was already going a bit over the speed limit. This person FLEW by me! I'd guess they were going 78 in a 55 mph zone! Oh these crazy Americans, ne? The holidays make everyone crazy. Family come home from all over the world, they sit down at the Christmas dinner, and they talk about the FOOD. "My goodness Bertha! This duck sure is tasty!" "Where'd you buy your gravy?" "So, what's in the potatoes?". And if you think I'm joking, listen to YOUR Christmas Dinner Conversation...

But, life is as life does. I guess it's just tradition. Plus, if we locked up the crazy people, who'd we spend the Holidays with?
