Laying ghosts

I've been checking people's lj blogs semi-regularly, but just haven't posted anything myself in quite a while. But I feel that blogging is giving way to one-line facebook and twitter posts, and I think that's kind of sad. I miss reading a paragraph or two about what people think, and maybe writing something myself that can't be summarised in a witty sentance.

Back from a month of travels... slowly getting ourselves de-jetlagged. Leif is really happy to be back at daycare with his friends - it's really sweet how excited he was that first day. He's really shot up - he looks like such a boy all of a sudden! And cute, if I do say so myself.

Mountain View, the previous site of our crisis-filled year of 2008, was surprisingly un-traumatic. Yes, I finally went back, willingly. And I realised that our horrible year wasn't Mountain View's fault. Mountain View is actually rather a nice place - good weather, friendly liberal people, lots of parks, lots of kids, palm trees, fresh produce... it was just a lot of bad luck that crashed down on us, and happened to be while we lived there.

It was good to go back and lay those ghosts.
