Well, I thought today was a good day.
I was heading back from Whitewind's place with two friends and decided to head north on I-95. Well, at about 5 after 1am (the 5th of August) I was attempting to pass a truck on the right by going in the fast lane.
Within a few seconds I felt something happen with the rear right tire, and the next thing I knew, we were spinning. We came to rest facing the southbound lanes in the median strip, with a blown tire.
It took us a while to change the flat. The tires dug into the ground from the sliding stop (basicly we did a 360 plus a 90 to the left...hense why we ended up perpendicular to traffic.). I was shaking untill I got into my mom's car and was heading to Rannett's to drop him off. I didn't get home till about 3:30 am after dropping people off and such.
There seems to be a slow leak in the front left tire, and I still can't get the smell of burnt rubber out of my mind. As I was driving the two home in my mom's car, questions were going through my head.
What caused it? (the tire has a perfect cut on the inside edge along the bend from the flat wall to the tred)
What else could have happened? (being on a brige during the spin...traffic behind me...)
What can be done? (lawsuit for tread seperation?)
I just keep asking these questions, and I'm glad I'm just alright.
