photography style.. and Anton Corbijn
I feel like a fucking idiot here I am scratching my head looking at other wedding photographers wondering where they get the idea for their photos.. and its staring me right in the face..freaking Anton Corbijn.. I have books on this guy when I was obessed with him in the mid 90's when I started shooting.. so i took them out tonight and started looking at them.. He always had amazing grain with intresting tonal values. He is an amazing photographer in his own right
I have figured out my style.. with photography.. I want it to be moody and dark yet.. romantic the feeling of living for one one another.. happy natural..
the style similar to anton corbijn with a twist of vogue .. mixed with real deep blacks and whites and grain.. I am talking old school DM album covers with anton corbijn lots of negative space ..
I am thinking I am getting there and making it my own finally ..
I remember going into Keith's room when I first met him, on his wall where 3 Anton Corbijn Photographs from Joy Division, the cure and DM .. Amazing I thought to myself.. a man who has style and good taste in photography---
here is some more info on Corbijn: he just filmed a biopic about Ian Curtis last year - CONTROL
"Corbijns influence was immeasurable and his work with bands like U2, R.E.M. and Depeche Mode was ground breaking. He has come full circle as it was his pictures of Joy Division taken only weeks before Curtis's passing; although shunned at the time as being too arty and obscure that went on to became the defining images of the band and in doing so launched Antons rise to fame."
